Mladen Vojkić
SALES DIRECTOR IN AQUACHEM SERBIA, A MASTER OF ECONOMICS WITH A
DEGREE FROM THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA, ITALY
We bring you an interview with Mladen
Vojkić, a sales director in Aquachem
Serbia, who gave us the details on the
opening of the new branch, the plans for
the future and the current state of affairs
in the pool industry market in Serbia.
When was the Aquachem office in
Serbia established and when did
you start operating?
but we aim to get involved in projects for
public pools and water parks in Serbia.
Aquachem opened its office in Serbia in
October 2023 and it started operating in May
this year after we moved into our office space
and warehouse. Also, we organised an official
opening on 10 May 2024 together with our
dear guests who supported us and celebrated this important milestone for Aquachem.
How would you describe the
current situation in the Serbian
market when it comes to pools
and pool equipment? Are there
any data on the number of private
pools? What type of pools do private customers most often install,
if you have this data? How many
water parks and thermal spas are
there?
How does having a warehouse
within the branch facilitate providing quick support to partners
and customers?
The new warehouse is located in the Krnješevci industrial zone in the municipality of
Stara Pazova (Vojvodina). Due to its excellent
location, it enables the reception, storage and
fast delivery of the overall product range to
our partners. In addition to offering high-quality global brands of pool equipment, we are
dedicated to our customers’ success. We
consider the opening of the new warehouse a
major step on the path of mutual growth and
development in the coming years.
What is the structure of your
partners in the Serbian market?
Our partners are companies specialised for
the construction of private and public pools.
We are currently focused on collaborating
with partners involved in the installation and
maintenance of equipment for private pools,
Pools are no longer a luxury. New technologies and more affordable materials have
made pools more attainable in the last ten
years. The COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated the construction of pools around
the world, including in Serbia. Although there
are no official data on the number of private
pools, according to current regulations, private pools of up to 25 m2 in surface area and
up to 1.2 m in depth do not require a building
permit. The most common choices are
concrete pools and pools with polystyrene
blocks covered with a PVC membrane.
There are currently 14 water parks and 34
thermal spas or thermal springs in Serbia.
How do you assess market
potential and trends?
Although Serbia does not have a sea,
climate change is making pools with the
accompanying water entertainment facilities almost a necessity. In addition to
making profit, they also provide aesthetic
and functional value. Domestic investors
are increasingly following global trends in
the construction of luxury complexes with
pools, gyms and other amenities, because
buyers seek privacy and additional benefits.
Which products from your offer
are the most in demand?
The most sought-after products from
Aquachem’s range include innovative products from the manufacturer Aquark, Spanish pumps from Espa, French covers from
DEL and, of course, polystyrene blocks
from the Croatian manufacturer Kemenović.
The new branch with a warehouse in
Serbia is a result of the years of effort put in
by Aquachem’s team, the company vision and
the accomplishment of the goal of international business expansion.
